Product Design Engineer

Door3 is looking for a Product Design Engineer to combine design and front-end engineering in a single role — exploring and prototyping to find the right answer, then carrying features through to the production front-end, rather than splitting design and development between separate people.

The work centers on building AI agent interfaces for the insurance industry: "supervisory surfaces" for professional users, including triage queues, confidence indicators, and citation patterns that replace traditional dashboards. When AI can produce competent interfaces instantly, the scarce skill is telling good from merely functional — which is exactly the judgment this role is meant to bring.

• Proven track record shipping front-end code to production, owning problems end-to-end
• Strong design judgment — able to distinguish genuinely good interfaces from merely functional ones
• Product instinct and comfort validating with users
• Fluency with modern web codebases and AI tooling; specific framework background matters less than the ability to ship and know when it's right
• Data-visualization expertise for complex, high-stakes interfaces
• Ability to communicate credibly with insurance industry professionals
